Free Picks at Del Mar – August 14, 2026

The gates are ready to swing open at the "place where the turf meets the surf," and there is an electric energy in the salt air today. Del Mar is legendary for its summer atmosphere, but for those of us at Track Tipster, it’s all about the data, the form, and finding that winning edge. We’ve been tracking the morning works and keeping a close eye on trainer intent to bring you a few diamonds in the rough for this afternoon’s card.

Whether you are enjoying a cocktail in the grandstand or playing along from home, today’s slate offers some fascinating betting opportunities. Let's dive into our top free picks for August 14th.

Pick 1: Race #1 — Jalisco

Bet: Win
Odds: N/A (Check live board)
Confidence: Medium

We are kicking things off in the opener with a very intriguing debutant. Jalisco has been the talk of the backside during morning training sessions, displaying a natural, effortless early speed that should serve them well over this fast surface. While debut runners always carry a bit of uncertainty, the clock doesn't lie, and Jalisco’s recent gate works suggest a horse that is professional and ready to fire immediately. If they can clear the field early, they might just never look back.

Pick 2: Race #2 — Queenofthewild (IRE)

Bet: Win
Odds: N/A (Check live board)
Confidence: High

Moving into the second, our "Best Bet" of the early card is the European import, Queenofthewild (IRE). There is always a high level of prestige when an Irish-bred runner ships into Del Mar, and this filly looks to have a massive class advantage. Her pedigree screams distance, and the way she settled in her recent local breezes suggests she has handled the transition to Southern California beautifully. Against this specific field, her late turn-of-foot should be devastating. Expect her to sit mid-pack and blow by the competition at the top of the stretch.

Pick 3: Race #3 — Circuit Breaker

Bet: Win
Odds: N/A (Check live board)
Confidence: Medium

In the third, we are looking at a horse with massive upside. Circuit Breaker is still relatively "green" with only a few starts under the belt, but the progression from race to race has been undeniable. This specific barn has been absolutely firing at the current meet, boasting a high strike rate with horses making their second or third start of the cycle. Circuit Breaker showed plenty of grit in their last outing, fighting through traffic, and with a cleaner trip today, they are a major threat to visit the winner's circle.
