Breeders' Cup 2026 Schedule: Every Race, Post Time and Where to Watch
Plan your two days now
The 2026 Breeders' Cup is Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31 at Keeneland, and the race order and post times are set. All times below are Eastern, which matters if you are building a Friday afternoon around work: the first championship race goes off at 2:55 p.m. ET and the Classic closes the weekend at 6:16 p.m. ET.

Friday, Oct. 30 — Future Stars Friday
Five Breeders' Cup races, all for 2-year-olds. This is the entire championship slate for the division, and it is the hardest card of the year to handicap because most of these horses have two or three starts.
| Race | Post time (ET) | | --- | --- | | Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint | 2:55 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies | 3:35 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf | between the Juvenile Fillies and the Juvenile | | Breeders' Cup Juvenile | between the Juvenile Fillies Turf and the Juvenile Turf | | Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf | 5:35 p.m. |
The Juvenile Turf Sprint is the sixth race on the Keeneland card. The two races in between run on the published card times, so grab the official program at the window or in your wagering app on race day.
Saturday, Oct. 31 — Championship Saturday
Nine championship races, ending with the Classic.
| Race | Post time (ET) | | --- | --- | | Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint | 1:48 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Sprint | 2:26 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf | 3:04 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint | 3:42 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Mile | 4:20 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Distaff | 4:58 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Turf | 5:36 p.m. | | Breeders' Cup Classic | 6:16 p.m. |
Saturday's Breeders' Cup action begins at 1:10 p.m. ET with the first championship race of the day on the card. The Classic is the final race of the entire meeting, which means every horseplayer in the country is staring at the same 10 furlongs.
Where to watch
NBC Sports and Peacock carry the weekend with about 10.5 hours of live coverage featuring all 14 championship races.
- Friday, Oct. 30 — 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. ET
- Saturday, Oct. 31 — 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. ET on USA Network, then 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock
If you are watching from Central, Mountain, or Pacific time, subtract accordingly: the Classic goes off at 5:16 p.m. CT, 4:16 p.m. MT, and 3:16 p.m. PT.
How to use this schedule
Three practical habits for a two-day championship:
- Mark the anchors. Pick the races you actually want to bet and build your day around them instead of playing every race on the card.
- Watch the horizontals. Multi-race wagers that cross Friday and Saturday races can carry big pools, and a single longshot in leg one changes the math on all of them.
- Check scratches. Scratch time Saturday is 8:00 a.m. ET. A defection can change the pace projection of an entire race, which on a 14-race weekend is the difference between a smart ticket and a donation.
Tomorrow: how to bet it
Tuesday's post walked through the schedule. Wednesday's walks through the wagering: what a win bet actually pays against, how exotics work, how to read a morning line, and how to size a bet so a bad beat does not end your weekend.
Our daily picks page covers the cards we play, and the methods we use to build them are laid out in The Handicapper's Edge — pace, trip, class, and price, in seven playbooks you can apply to any race on this card.
